Two companies in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province received provincial premium brand certifications at the 2nd Jiangsu Quality Conference held in Nanjing on Dec 17.

Among them is Nantong China Railway Huayu Electric Co Ltd, a leading LED light manufacturer. Established in 1997, the company has a high-power LED illumination engineering research center, a technology center, and intelligent workshops, all of which are of provincial level. Its products are widely used in railways, tunnels, harbors, and airports.

The other is Rugao Guangxing Rice Co Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Jiangsu Longlife Group. Established in 2006, the company has an annual production capacity of 40,000 metric tons of rice and a storage capacity of 4,000 tons of rice. Its Putang rice was named among Jiangsu's 10 best rice brands this year.

The Rugao administration for market regulation will continue to help local companies develop premium brands, said local media outlets.

A total of 110 products and services provided by 100 companies won the premium brand certification at the conference.
