Qiang ethnic embroidery exhibition staged in Chongchuan district

An exhibition demonstrating wonderful embroidery from the Qiang ethnic group in Ningqiang county in Northwest China's Shaanxi province kicks off on Dec 1. It is being held in the Chongchuan Library, located in the Chongchuan district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, and will run to Jan 31, 2022. Ningqiang Qiang ethnic embroidery was listed as a provincial intangible cultural heritage item by the Shaanxi government in December 2015. It was included in the first batch of traditional handicrafts to be revitalized by the Shaanxi provincial culture and tourism department in May 2018. [Photo/WeChat account: chongchuanlibrary]

Ningqiang county, administered by Hanzhong city in Shaanxi province, established a pairing relationship with Chongchuan district in Nantong to help lift it out of poverty. The Ningqiang Qiang embroidery is said to be the result of the combination of Qiang ethnic people's labor and wisdom, highlighting their artistic creativity.
