The fifth Nantong Intangible Cultural Heritage Bazaar opened at the Seyuan campus of Nantong University on Sept 24.

Crowds of students and teachers were attracted to the bazaar, where they tasted traditional delicacies, such as sugar painting, Xiting crispy biscuits, and Qiantao Magao, a crispy cake made of walnuts, as well as admired exquisite artworks, including Nantong blue calico, simulated embroidery, and colorful lanterns.

Organizers said choosing the campus as the first stop of this year's bazaar was meant to enhance teachers and students' awareness of the importance of protecting and spreading traditional Chinese culture.

The bazaar has been a brand cultural event hosted by the city's authorities for intangible cultural heritage protection since 2019.

Nearly 100 items involving traditional crafts and local delicacies are on display and for sales at this year's edition.

The bazaar will be livestreamed on Sept 27. It will be held at Dinggujiao Pedestrian Street from Sept 30 to Oct 4, and then at the Binjiang area of Langshan National Forest Park from Sept 30 to Oct 1.
