Changjiang town in the south of Rugao, East China's Jiangsu province has produced good results in pursuing high-quality development by fostering high-tech industries, improving education resources, and carrying out ecological construction.

A science and technology business incubator opened in Changjiang town on Oct 29 to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, as well as to support the growth of scientific and technological enterprises.

The total output value of the high-tech industry in Changjiang town reached 19.38 billion yuan ($3.03 billion) from January to October this year, accounting for 52.78 percent of the total output value of large-scale industries. The high-tech enterprises above designated size invested 1.19 billion yuan in research and development, accounting for 3.19 percent of their operating revenue.

In terms of education resources, a newly built primary school in Changjiang town has been put into use. It is equipped with a playground, a basketball court, and badminton courts, covering an area of 4.3 hectares, which has greatly improved the educational environment for students.

At present, Changjiang town boasts facilities covering all education levels, including kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, high schools, and vocational colleges.

In terms of ecological construction, work on the Longyouwan ecological landscape area that integrates tourism, entertainment, and leisure is underway, which aims to protect the ecology of the Yangtze River Basin, as well as contribute to green economy development.
