The winners of the 2021 Jiangsu Governor Quality Awards and the Nomination Awards were released on Oct 25 and four companies in Nantong gained recognition – ranking the prefecture-level city first in the province of Jiangsu in East China.
Among those triumphing in the list announced by the Jiangsu government was Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd, also known as NACKS. Located in the Chongchuan district of Nantong, it won the Nomination Award of the Jiangsu Governor Quality Award.
Established in 1995 by China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, or COSCO, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, NACKS is the first large-scale Sino-foreign joint venture shipbuilding enterprise in China.
With its shipyard completed and in production within less than three years, NACKS rapidly became a benchmark for China's modern shipbuilding industry.
Its main products include bulk carriers, pure car truck carriers, very large crude oil carriers or VLCCs, very large ore carriers, dual-fuel ships and other mainstream merchant ships.
To date, the company has built and delivered over 200 high-quality ships.
