The new emergency medical center of the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University located in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, began trial operations on Aug 30, after nearly one year of renovations.
Renovated from the original outpatient building of the hospital, the new emergency center has an area of over 15,000 square meters for services, which will relieve pressure on emergency patients that need to see a doctor.
The new center has also improved its emergency information system, and patients will be triaged and graded before registration. Priority will be given to critically ill patients.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, isolation and operating rooms were added to the new center, as well as digital radiography, digital subtraction angiography, and ultrasound machines.
In addition, the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University will carry out a renovation project on the first and second floors of the original emergency building to build a neonatal critical care center, integrate pediatric outpatient and emergency treatment, and further improve the treatment quality and efficiency of pediatrics.
