Chongchuan rolls out vaccinations for youngsters aged 12-17

In another push against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chongchuan district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province has reportedly rolled out mass vaccinations for youngsters 12-17 years of age.

By 2pm on Aug 16, a total of 40,254 people had been vaccinated, taking the vaccination rate for first doses in the age group to 61.46 percent.

Making adjustments for the physiological characteristics of the young people, the medical institutions and centers providing vaccination services in Chongchuan set up special courses for them as required.

Accompanied by parents or guardians, students of different grades can go to designated vaccination sites in their jurisdiction when their school timetables permit.

The population aged 12-17 in Chongchuan numbers around 65,000 and it is expected that by the end of August the first-dose will have been completed, while by the end of September the roll out of the second jab will be completed.
