en.nantong.gov.cn Updated: 2021-08-23

From crabs to shrimps to fish, copious amounts of seafood have been making their way to the tables of Nantong residents after fishing boats returned with their catch.

According to local fishermen, the harvest of crabs and shrimps this year is larger than in the same period last year, with the daily turnover at Lyusi Port in Qidong reaching 1.5 million kilograms and worth about 24 million yuan ($3.71 million).

In addition to meeting local demands, the seafood will also be sold to Shanghai, Shandong, Hebei and Tianjin.

This harvest was the first of the new fishing season which started on Aug 1. Local fishermen said that more seafood will be brought ashore later.
