An international agricultural products logistics center has been officially signed for construction in Xingren town, Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, according to the town's recently released government work report for the first half of 2021.

The first phase of the project will receive 1.5 billion yuan ($232 million) in investment from Zhongnong Desheng Agricultural Technology Co Ltd.

Established in 2017 with a registered capital of 50 million yuan, Zhongnong Desheng Agricultural Technology is an investment enterprise focusing on agriculture and rural affairs. It is committed to developing and constructing agriculture-related circulation platforms, such as farm produce wholesale markets, farmer's markets, and complexes integrating agriculture, culture, tourism, and wellness.

The project is planned with six areas and four centers – a trade area, a cold-chain storage area, a distribution area, a data hub, a business area, an emergency stock area, an emergency rescue center, a comprehensive service center, a safety quarantine center, and a tourist center.
