A matchmaking conference on industrial development between the southern Jiangsu region and Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was held in Suzhou on June 18, with agreements for 24 Tongzhou projects worth over 23 billion yuan ($3.6 billion) signed.

The district has maintained close contact with industrial and commercial circles and scientific research institutions in the southern Jiangsu region for years. In the past few years in particular, Tongzhou has taken the initiative to integrate into the southern Jiangsu region and has achieved high-speed and high-quality development through industrial matchmaking and cooperation.

Over the past three years, Tongzhou has introduced 61 projects from the southern Jiangsu area, with investment valued at nearly 25 billion yuan in total. Ten of the projects are worth 1 billion yuan each. The district has also carried out 92 industry-university-research cooperation projects with colleges and institutes in southern Jiangsu.

In addition, Helian Technology Industry Development Co Ltd plans to construct an aviation industrial park in the district. According to Zhu Tiecheng, general manager of Helian Technology, over 20 companies have shown intent to set up operations in the industrial park due to Tongzhou district's convenient location and strong aviation industry.
