The seventh list of Jiangsu provincial characteristic countryside villages was recently released by the provincial department of housing and urban-rural development. A total of 42 villages made the list.

The prefecture-level city of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province had two villages included in the list, one of which was Yangzhuang village in Libao town in the county-level city of Hai'an.

In recent years, Yangzhuang village has built three demonstration sites for human settlements and connected them with the "Four Good Rural Roads" – which lay out the goals of good construction, good management, good maintenance, and good operations for the benefit of rural residents.

A demonstration area for human settlements, which features pleasant scenery, lucid waters, and green farmlands, has been formed, improving locals' quality of life.

Over the past three years, public satisfaction toward the environment has reached 95 percent.

The village will reportedly build 10 more model sites for human settlement in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
