New library opens in Haimen

The newly built Haimen Library started trial operations in Haimen district, Nantong on June 30, local media outlets reported.
Located at No 100 Middle Dongbuzhou Road, the library covers an area of 18,431 square meters and is comprised of six parts: an adults' library, a children's library, a multimedia reading area, a multifunctional area, a book collection area, and an office area.
The library will open at 8:30 am and close at 6 pm every day, except Monday. A 24-hour self-service library at the southwestern corner of the first floor of the library allows people with a reader's card to enter at any time.

The library also has a reading room especially for people with visual disabilities. The room not only offers Braille books and magazines, but also computers and radios for these readers.
Praised as a modern intelligent library, the new facility includes numerous smart equipment, such as a robot offering guides to visitors, as well as several self-service machines to issue reader's cards or to lend and collect books.
