A new park themed on the history of the Communist Party of China recently opened to the public in Haimen district, Nantong, local media outlets reported.

The park is part of the local government's efforts to enrich people's life and was built within three months to celebrate the centenary of CPC on July 1, officials said.

A replica of the historical boat where the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China was concluded in 1921 can be found at the entrance of the park.

Covering 66,000 square meters, the park features sculptures and tablets depicting the founding of the CPC, the founding of the People's Republic of China, the CPC's efforts to seek development opportunities, reform and opening up, and China’s development in the new era.

Visitors can also learn more about the history of the CPC through videos and books in the park as well as by scanning QR codes located across the venue.

Officials said the park will function as a special educational center for the CPC's history and a place of leisure.
