An exhibition spotlighting redwood carving and embroidery is currently underway at the Literary and Art Gallery in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, attracting many visitors.
The event is being hosted by the city's publicity department, cultural and tourism bureau, as well as the Nantong federation of literary and art circles as part of a series of activities held for the city's "May Wind" cultural month.
On display are 75 works by 37 artists, showcasing the classic beauty of traditional Chinese art in the combination of redwood's majesty and embroidery's grace.
The redwood carvings involve traditional Chinese furniture, such as beds, study desks, chairs, as well as small items like tea pots and bird cages.

Made in typical Nantong style, the works not only present the city's iconic carpentry and carving techniques, but also demonstrate the city's traditional lacquer coating skills.
Nantong embroidery is a branch of Suzhou embroidery. The exhibition displays various branching skills, such as simulating embroidery.
