The China National Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert at the Nantong Grand Theater on the evening of May 18, marking the theater's start of trial operations.
The theater was designed by French architect Paul Andreu and features five shining flower petals shimmering on Zilang Lake.
It is the largest cultural project in Nantong in terms of investment and stands 57 meters high, with two floors underground and seven above ground, covering a floor area of 111,000 square meters.
The theater consists of five main venues: an opera house, a concert hall, a drama hall, a children's theater, and a multipurpose hall.
The opera house has 1,532 seats and has a rotating stage and lifting equipment. It is capable of hosting large-scale international performances, conferences, and other events.
Officials said that in addition to cultural performances and activities, the theater will also offer venues for government departments and social organizations looking to hold art classes, commercial events, and charity activities.
