Rugao hospital moves up in national ranking

The People's Hospital of Rugao in Nantong ranked 76th on the list of China's top 100 county-level hospitals, which was released at the 2021 China Hospital Competitiveness Conference held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, from April 16 to 17.

The hospital has moved up 13 places since the list was first published in 2014.

During the recent nationwide evaluation of third-class public hospitals by the National Health Commission, the hospital also performed strongly, moving up 101 places compared to its previous ranking in 2018, making it the top county-level hospital in Nantong.

Founded in 1921, the People's Hospital of Rugao is an integrated 3B-level public hospital engaged in medical treatment, education, scientific research, disease prevention, and rehabilitation.

The hospital has a floor area of 120,000 square meters, 1,161 staff members, and 1,248 beds. It was visited by patients around 959,000 times in 2019.
