The annual peony culture festival will kick off at the Langshan National Forest Park in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on April 3 and will run until May 5.
Nearly 30,000 peony plants in nine colors and a dozen varieties have blossomed over the 3,000-square-meter garden. Experts said that the best period to admire the blossoms will span more than 50 days.
A wide range of cultural activities will be held during the festival to entertain tourists. They include a mobile phone photography contest, a traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting exhibition, a tea culture performance, and a fashion show highlighting the qipao — a traditional Chinese one-piece dress.
Tour guides will also be dressed in hanfu, another type of traditional Chinese clothing.
