When the night falls, Yiyuan Garden located at the southeastern corner of the Haohe River scenic area – in the city of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province – is overwhelmed with swirling mist and romantic colorful lights, resembling a wonderland amid the hustle and bustle of the city.

Officials said the newly opened garden introduced artificial fog-creating system during a recent renovation, which not only plays to peoples' aesthetic desires, but also helps eliminate dust and lower the temperature in summer.

Established in 1991, Yiyuan Garden covers an area of 0.35 hectares and is surrounded by water and carpeted by lush grass and boasts a wide variety of mature trees.

The garden also features a pavilion and bridge named "yi", which commemorates Gu Yisheng (1882-1955), a renowned local educator. The pavilion stands on the former site of the first Party branch of a normal college in Jiangsu province.
