A new campus for the Lifa High School of Hai'an City – located in the Shanghu Innovation Zone in the county-level city of Hai'an, in East China's Jiangsu province – was officially inaugurated on March 3, with great hopes for the future.

Yu Lizhong, Party secretary of Hai'an and Tan Zhen, mayor of Hai'an, attended the opening ceremony and unveiled the foundation plaque for the new campus, which is said to boast a beautiful environment, advanced facilities and a wide range of functions.

Construction of the 8.53-hectare facility, with a total investment of 250 million yuan ($38.65 million), started in September 2019.

The project included teaching buildings, dormitories, a comprehensive building, lecture halls, canteen, gymnasium and an athletics stadium with a 400-meter running track.

Yu delivered a speech in which he urged the Lifa High School of Hai'an City to seize the opportunities brought about by the opening of the new campus to improve its teaching staff and quality and level of education – so as to create a distinctive campus culture, to nurture and prepare more outstanding young people for society and the entire country.

Tan hoped the school would take the opening of the new campus as an inspiring fresh start. He also urged the Shanghu Innovation Zone to speed up its construction and development – sparing no effort to create a happy and livable home with a beautiful environment and complete facilities.
