Xinghai community in Hai'an – a county-level city administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – launched a string of reading-themed activities for teenagers, especially left-behind children whose parents chose to stay put during the Spring Festival holiday.
In a bid to enrich teenagers' holiday life and meet the needs for epidemic prevention and control, Xinghai community rolled out such online reading activities as poetry recitation, and recommended books to boost juveniles' interest in reading.
The community also provided opportunities for children to share their opinions about the plot of the most impressive book they have ever read. Left-behind children were specially invited to attend the event.
