Jiangsu Jianghai Museum and the Memorial Hall of Zhang Jian in Haimen district, Nantong were recently included in the list of national class-C level museums by the Chinese Museums Association.

Jiangsu Jianghai Museum, established in 2018, is the first museum to feature river and ocean culture in China. The building, covering a floor area of 17,000 square meters, was built in the style of a traditional Haimen folk residence and has a collection of more than 5,000 items.

The Memorial Hall of Zhang Jian is a national 4A-level scenic area and houses more than 300 cultural relics and over 1,000 photographic documents related to Zhang Jian, a renowned industrialist and scholar in modern China.

The two museums were among the five in Nantong to make the cut this year, the other three being Hai'an Museum, Rugao Museum, and the Chinese Charity Museum.
