Nantong West Coach Station, located in Pingchao town, Tongzhou district, came into operation on Dec 19, giving people access to the three-in-one transfer of high-speed railway, coach and bus.

The coach station and its supporting facilities were designed and constructed according to the third-level passenger terminal standard stipulated by the Ministry of Transport. Integrating the functions of urban public transport, long-distance passenger transport and police services, it is an important demonstration project as an integrated transport hub in Jiangsu province.

Nantong West Coach Station is on the western side of Nantong West High-speed Railway Station. It is a one-minute walk from the exit of the railway to the coach station, and the corridors between the two stations are equipped with canopies to protect the public from rain.

The station's main building has two floors. The first floor is a bus station yard equipped with 34 parking spaces and areas for passengers to get on and off buses. The second floor includes a waiting hall, a ticket lobby and a parking lot with 27 spaces for coaches.

The station also has self-storage cabinets, baby care rooms, self-service ticket machines and self-check-in machines.

"The biggest highlight of the West Coach Station is the adoption of a self-check-in system," said Qian Liang, head of the station. With non-contact check-in, passengers can directly enter the station through reading their ID cards or tickets, or face recognition.
