A new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for plant protection debuted in the Tianmeng Cooperative, Jinsha sub-district in Tongzhou district on Dec 8. The employment of a plant protection UAV is important in improving the agricultural technology level and boosting the intelligent development of agriculture.
Staff members from DJI, a leading drone manufacturer in China, explained the features and method of application of the new UAV to the farmer households in detail.
The new T30 plant protection UAV has a large body and is able to spray 16 hectares of land per hour. Compared with former models it has great improvement in efficiency, safety and operation.
"The load of the T30 UAV has been increased from 20 to 30 kilograms, and the sprinkling width has risen from 7 to 9 meters, providing a guarantee for high work efficiency," said Li Geng, the agricultural sales manager of DJI.
"In response to customers' feedback, we added a camera at the rear of the UAV and radar in the horizontal direction to further enhance its capacity to avoid obstacles and ensure farmers' safety," Li said.
The convenient and efficient UAV proved popular among the growers as 36 were reserved at the site.
Qu Guanchun, the person in charge of Tianci Family Farm, is a beneficiary of intelligent agricultural machinery. He has bought a UAV before and is full of praise for them.
"My present UAV not only saves labor costs but also improves work efficiency when spraying pesticides," Guan said. "The effect of this new one makes me look forward to the future."
"Nowadays, the price of UAVs is affordable, and the operation is more and more convenient," said Li. "The reduced thresholds for purchase and use have attracted many buyers."
