Qidong recognized as national upgraded foreign trade base for electric tools

According to Qidong municipal commerce bureau, Qidong, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, was recognized recently as a national transformed and upgraded foreign trade base for its electric tool industry by the Ministry of Commerce.
The electric tool industry is a distinctive industry in Qidong that brings people prosperity. After more than 40 years of development, Qidong has won titles such as China electric tool industry base and Jiangsu electric tool export base.
Lyusigang town, the core area of the industry in Qidong, has 533 enterprises engaged in electric tools and parts processing. These companies produce more than 2,200 kinds of tools which are sold across the whole country. The sales volume of Qidong-made electric tools accounts for over 60 percent of the national total every year. In recent years, the enterprises have also focused on expanding its overseas market.
Recognition as a national transformed and upgraded foreign trade base will encourage the electric tool industry in Qidong to develop further and enhance the competitiveness of the city's products in international markets.
