The "Migao Cup" 2020 National Junior Short Track Speed Skating Competition (Jiangsu Division) kicked off at Qidong Experimental Primary School in Nantong on Oct 6.
The two-day competition attracted more than 300 participants from the Yangtze River Delta region. They competed in men's and women's short track speed roller skating and freestyle roller skating categories in different age groups.
The members of the Qidong Astro Skating Club did well in the event, taking home 18 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals. All local competitors demonstrated high skating skills.
Roller skating is a great way to have fun while working out and also has an artistic beauty. Not restricted by venues and easy to learn, the activity has become more and more popular among young people and one of the fastest growing fitness sports in recent years.
The competition was jointly sponsored by the Nantong Roller Skating Association, the Qidong Education and Sports Bureau, the government of Huiping town in Qidong, and the Qidong Sports Federation. The Chinese Roller Skating Association and the Jiangsu Roller Skating Association guided the event.
