The demonstration center for the high-value patent cultivation of high-performance valves, led by Jiangsu Shentong Valve Co Ltd, a Qidong-based high-tech enterprise, passed acceptance by the expert group of Jiangsu Intellectual Property Office on Oct 14.

The center has helped the enterprise achieve annual revenue growth of over 30 percent for two consecutive years, and made contributions to the development of the high-end valve sector.

Founded in 2017, the demonstration center focuses on the research and development of key technologies in the fields of precision manufacturing, online breakdown diagnosis, material technology and properties study, valves used in harsh working conditions and green manufacturing technology.

It has cultivated a string of core patents and portfolios that are technically difficult, have high market value, can support the high-end development of the industry, and formed a cultivation mode that can be promoted.

At the acceptance meeting, Wu Jianxin, president of Jiangsu Shentong, reported on the construction situation and the achievements of the project. During the construction period, the center built a complete intellectual property working team and operation mechanism, and formulated scheme and management regulations on cultivating high-value patents.

By now, Qidong city has six demonstration centers for high-value patent cultivation. Giving play to the effects of industry-university-research cooperation, these centers have created a number of high-value patents and portfolios, improved the core competitiveness of Qidong enterprises' intellectual property, and effectively promoted the transformation and upgrading of regional traditional competitive industries and high-tech enterprises.
