Rugao works to develop bonsai-themed tourism

The Bonsai Town in Rugao, Nantong was recently included in a list of provincial-level special towns released by the Jiangsu Development and Reform Committee, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the province's sports department.
The Rugao government has attached great importance to the construction of the town and has recently improved its layout.
The town, located in the southern suburban area of Rugao, covers an area of 4.91 square kilometers and consists of six sections focusing on exhibitions and trade, art and innovation, rural life experiences, modern community, culture and tourism, and waterside scenery, respectively.
The town will take advantage of the area's thriving gardening industry and profound longevity culture to develop a unique tourist destination.
Officials have said that the town will integrate bonsais with the big health, tourism, and supply chain finance sectors to form a diversified industrial cluster.
