Haimen become more attractive to college graduates
The second job fair for local college graduates was held in Haimen district, Nantong on Aug 18, following the first one that was held a month ago.
The two fairs attracted more than 5,900 job seekers who had a choice of more than 8,000 job positions at 300 companies. More than 1,500 graduates reached initial agreements with their potential employers.
According to recruitment personnel, there has been more Haimen-born college graduates returning to the district than in previous years. Many of these individuals revealed that they were attracted by Haimen's bright development prospects.
"There are many job opportunities here. Working here would allow me to start my career without leaving my family," said Yuan Jiahao.
So far, about 2,000 local college graduates have found jobs in Haimen, accounting for 50 percent of the total native college graduates this year.
To attract talents, companies have not only offered attractive salaries, but also optimized the environments in the office and dormitories and built recreational centers, said an official at the district's human resource bureau.
In addition, the local government has introduced incentives for graduates who work or start businesses in the district. For example, Haimen-born graduates with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees can receive a monthly subsidy of 1,000 yuan, 1,500 yuan and 3,000 yuan, respectively.
