According to the Qidong Maternity and Childcare Hospital, it will officially start operating on Aug 3 on a partial basis. Open services will include marriage registrations, pre-marital checks, one-stop service for pre-pregnancy check-ups, screening for breast cancer and cervical cancer and applications for birth medical certificates. The original windows responsible for these affairs will no longer provide them, local media reported.

The Qidong Maternity and Childcare Hospital is also a branch of the affiliated pediatric hospital of Fudan University. Located on Jinshajiang Road in Huilong town, the hospital covers 10 hectares and has a floorage of 95,000 square meters.

Being a county-level maternity and childcare hospital with the largest monomer scale in Jiangsu province, it integrates medical services, teaching, research, prevention and management.

With 500 beds anticipated the hospital will offer 19 clinical technology departments including gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, women's healthcare, childcare and family planning, as well as supporting services such as outpatient consultations.

Equipped with advanced medical facilities such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), spiral CT and a digital subtraction angiography machine, it will provide a strong network of clinical services in areas such as women and children's medical treatment, health care, and rehabilitation.
