The Qidong Maternity and Childcare Hospital is expected to officially start operating in July. It is Nantong's first county-level hospital specializing in maternity and childcare.

The hospital will provide medical treatment and rehabilitation services and make use of medical resources from Qidong People's Hospital, Qidong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Third People's Hospital of Qidong. It is also cooperating with several top hospitals in Shanghai.

Located at the intersection of Century Avenue and Dingcanggang Road, the hospital covers an area of 150 mu (10 hectares) and has a green coverage rate of 40 percent.

Four major sections of the hospital are set according to current national policies on maternity and childcare, and it has 19 clinical departments, including gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and more.

The inpatient building is designed to hold 499 beds, 288 of which will be available for patients after its official opening. An eight-meter-wide corridor connects the different departments and is equipped with four automatic fire monitors.

The hospital currently employs 407 medical workers and is equipped with a lot of modern medical equipment.

It is affiliated with the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, from which it will receive experts and experienced medical teams.
