Qidong People's Hospital signed a cooperation agreement with a medical team led by Fang Wentao from the Shanghai Chest Hospital on May 29, marking a step forward in cooperation between the two sides in terms of the treatment of pulmonary diseases.

Fang, who focuses mainly on esophageal diseases and thoracic surgery, is an experienced doctor at the Shanghai Chest Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 

The medical team led by him has been promoting minimally invasive surgeries for lung cancer in recent years in order to relieve pain and discomfort caused to patients by invasive surgeries.

Official data shows that lung cancer is the number one killer of residents in the city, and a growing number of residents have been diagnosed with pulmonary nodules.

Fang will regularly provide consultation services at Qidong People's Hospital and occasionally take part in group consultations on diseases related to thoracic surgery.

The medical team also discussed several cases involving pulmonary nodules with local doctors and shared relevant information with them.

Fang expressed hope that cooperation will lead to positive results and that both sides will take advantage of existing medical resources and exchange platforms.
