Village in Tongzhou creates supermarket-style service mode
A people-oriented supermarket has been set up in the service hall of Jiuzongdu village, Xiting town, Tongzhou district, Nantong. Many services instead of commodities are placed on its shelves.
Inspired by a "life supermarket model", Jiuzongdu village created a new delivery style by developing service lists that include items desired by villagers. The mode ensures that villagers' problems can be solved immediately by volunteers.
Located on the first floor of the Jiuzongdu village service center, the people-oriented supermarket covers over 130 square meters. Party member volunteers, the district's CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) members and people's congress members in Tongzhou district and Xiting town take turns on duty.
"8+X" service lists are displayed in the supermarket. "8" refers to the eight fixed lists of enterprise services, public security and polls, Party-masses work, village construction, policy promotion, sanitation and health, civil affairs and the disabled persons' federation, labor and social security.
"X" refers to whatever service a villager fills in on a card in accordance with his needs. The card is provided to a server. If it is a simple matter, the server should handle it immediately; for more comprehensive needs the server should handle it with other relevant departments or transfer it to the superior department concerned.
"Last week, we handled four matters including applying for a family planning certificate, household registration and mediating conflicts," Zhang Xiaojuan, a Party member volunteer said. "In addition to solving the basic appeals, we also provide services such as legal aid and policy advice."
