China Association of Children's Science Instructors released the national list for characteristic units with youth artificial intelligence activities on June 17, with Yangkou Gu'ao middle school included. In addition to this title, Gu'ao middle school has also been rated as a national advanced school in sports work.

Yangkou Gu'ao middle school has adhered to the school-running characteristic of science education, stressing cultivating students' abilities in practice, operation, invention and creativity.

Students from Gu'ao middle school took part in science and technology competitions at various levels, winning 23 provincial group first prizes and individual awards for more than 400 person times.

The school has been rated as a provincial characteristic school for science and technology education, a provincial science education base, a provincial characteristic school for middle school curriculum construction, and a provincial pilot for the STEM project.
