A launch ceremony for new Tangzha-style souvenirs was held in Tangzha ancient town, Nantong on June 3.
The new souvenirs were divided into three categories –snacks, liquor, and flavors, and included congyoubing (scallion oil pancakes), Hualushao, a Nantong-style spirit, and shrimp egg soy sauce.
One hundred and twenty-five years ago, Zhang Jian, a famous local industrialist and renowned academic, founded China's first large cotton spinning business – the Dasheng Yarn Factory – and formed an industrial cluster in Tangzha town, laying a solid foundation for the industrial development of modern China.

The town is now embracing new development opportunities as the local government endeavors to preserve the historical site and boost the local culture and tourism industries.
The town's administration has partnered with several time-honored local companies to develop Tangzha-style souvenirs. The project aims to take full advantage of local agricultural products with the help of fine processing techniques.
