A power supply company in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province performed a security inspection of Jiangsu Hengke New Materials Co on May 29, which developed the province's largest photovoltaic power generation project for private use in January.
Hengke New Materials, subsidiary of a Fortune Global 500 enterprise, is the world leader in chemical fabrics. It consumes 45 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per month, with its current transformer capacity reaching 300,000 kilovolt-amperes.
The company plans to begin developing new-type high polymer materials and create an expo garden for environment-friendly new materials after spending 30 billion yuan ($4.21 billion) expanding.
After achieving these goals, the company is expected to become the city's largest consumer of power, with its transformer capacity reaching 1 million kVA.
In 2015, the local power supply department contacted Zhongtian Photovoltaic Materials Co for the company in an effort to develop a photovoltaic power generation project, the first phase of which was hastily constructed in just 30 days.
The aforementioned photovoltaic project was completed in January. It is expected to save 6 million yuan in electricity costs and reduce carbon emissions by 3,200 metric tons.
The manager of the company thanked the local power supply company for its support in recent years.
