The opening ceremony of the 10th Literature and Art Week was held in Tongzhou district, Nantong on May 24.

The ceremony featured 11 performances in dance, sketch comedy and poetry recital. 

Seven medical workers from Nantong Tongzhou People's Hospital, who helped fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak in Hubei province, were invited to the ceremony and received calligraphy works from seven members of the district's calligraphers association.

The event, developed through the efforts of the district's federation of literary and art circles, takes place every May. It aims to showcase works created by local artists, promote the spread of local culture, and encourage local residents.

Accordingly, literary, painting, calligraphy and photography works will be exhibited in the district's administration center, and touring exhibitions will also be held in enterprises, communities and schools around the district.
