Construction started on a project involving precision materials in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on May 8. 

The project is funded by Shanghai Lirui Precision Metals Co, which specializes in high-end manufacturing and develops products for automobiles, medical equipment, intelligent manufacturing, engineering machinery and 5G infrastructure.

The project marks a big step in Hai'an's integration into southern Jiangsu province and Shanghai.

The new manufacturing center will cover 4.67 hectares and cost 1 billion yuan ($141 million), with annual sales revenue expected to exceed 1 billion yuan.

Yu Lizhong, mayor of the county-level city, said that the project will promote high-quality local development and the government will provide efficient and convenient services to ensure its smooth construction.
