An exhibition was held in Hai'an Culture and Art Center in Nantong on May 8 to showcase over 130 calligraphy, painting and photography works created during the fight against the novel coronavirus.

The Chinese painting made by Wu Tianyu, chairman of Hai'an's artists association, depicts a red-crowned crane soaring high into the sky above Yellow Crane Tower, as a sign of good wishes for a bright future.

Wu created over 30 paintings themed around the battle with the virus. He also called on other people to support the fight through literary and artistic works.

"We organized 14 online exhibitions during the virus outbreak, with over 500 works displayed," said Wu.

On the same day, local artists also sang songs, danced and performed scene plays to honor people who have contributed to the virus fight.
