Tongzhou district in Nantong now boasts over 3,000 home textile enterprises, making up 20 percent of the domestic market and 10 percent of the world's market. The textile industry is a mainstay in the district and innovative pattern design contributes to its competitiveness.

In the past, local enterprises were greatly affected by a growing number of pirated products. Through several years of efforts in copyright protection, the district has boosted its development in home textiles.

Nantong Jiayusi Textiles Group Co was recently rated as a "national demonstration enterprise of copyright", which is the highest honor involving copyright in China.

To date, Nantong Home Textile City in the district develops more than 30,000 new pattern designs every year, with 12,000 under registration for copyright. Local home textile products are currently exported to around 150 countries and regions around the world.

Jiangsu Goldsun Textile Science and Technology Co is also one of the enterprises benefiting from copyright protection. It has ranked first among companies of its kind in China in sales revenue and market share for 10 years in a row.

Chuanjiang town in the district, which is taken as a key area in the city for home textiles, has hosted 12 trade fairs since 2008, inviting over 1,700 domestic and international design enterprises and institutions, and exhibiting nearly 320,000 design sketches in total. About 40,000 sketches have been sold with nearly 90 million yuan ($12.7 million) in turnover.
