Shanghai Unitech Electronics Co has moved its factory buildings to Tongzhou district, Nantong and has already received a number of orders during its trial operation. It is seeing promising development prospects in the district

The company was established in 1995 with funding from Taiwan. In 2018, the company's previous factories were closed and it chose to move its operations to Nantong, as the city boasts a favorable location, business environment, and industrial potential, said Zheng Zhenshan, general manager of the company.

The Nantong branch of Shanghai Unitech Electronics Co received investment from Taiwan Yanhua in addition to its parent company. It mainly focuses on the production of printed circuit boards for 5G products, digital televisions, and electronic vehicles.

The Tongzhou district government has implemented several preferential policies since the company decided to move to the district and has offered assistance with housing and recruitment. The company also was able to set up a wastewater disposal station with the help of the local government.

According to Zheng, after moving to the district the company expanded its building area, and the first phase of the expansion finished at the end of 2019. It is expected to produce 600,000 square feet of circuit boards per month after officially starting operations in June, and the annual output value is expected to reach 1 billion yuan ($141.33 million) by the end of this year.
