Revenue in Qidong marine engineering industrial park increases nearly 40% in Q1
In the first quarter of 2020, the total taxable sales revenue of the marine engineering industrial park in Qidong, Nantong was 3.15 billion yuan ($444.71 million), a year-on-year increase of 38.9 percent. Marine engineering is one of the leading industries in the county-level city.
Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering in Qidong successfully delivered three integrated reliquefaction products to Wartsila, one of the world's largest ship power suppliers and manufacturers, on April 16.
A 1,300-ton self-propelled wind turbine installation vessel produced by the Qidong branch of COSCO Shipping Group was delivered on March 24, the first of its kind in China. It took only 16.5 months to complete.
The industrial park is endeavoring to attract influential enterprises with advanced technology. To date, it has gathered 19 world-renowned marine engineering companies, leading to its successful transformation of the high-end marine equipment manufacturing industry.
The industrial park is also actively expanding overseas and has signed a large number of deals, with orders worth nearly 12 billion yuan already being finalized and orders worth around 25 billion yuan still being negotiated.
