A meeting on pest control and crop protection drones took place at a family farm in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province on April 7, hosted by Nantong's agricultural technology promotion association and Tongzhou district's crop protection station. 

The meeting aimed to ensure grain production security and prevent plant diseases, such as wheat scab, a major disease affecting wheat production. If inflicted with the disease, the quality of wheat will be reduced, and the toxins may pose harm to the health of both humans and animals.

Experts from the district's crop protection station introduced the pest control measures during the wheat heading period, put forward a prevention strategy and guided local farmers to take effective technical measures.

In addition to chemical control, advanced technology has also been adopted to increase wheat production and improve quality. A crop protection drone demonstrated its effectiveness at pest control during the meeting.

A local company engaged in soil restoration also attended the meeting and provided technological support, bringing advanced soil restoration, fertilizer improvement and bio-safety waste disposal technology from Russia.
