The 6th peony festival took place at Langshan scenic sport in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 4 and is expected to end on May 5.

For COVID-19 pandemic control, online and offline activities are being held at the same time.

People can post videos shot at the scenic spot on Tik Tok, a short video streaming platform, and enjoy a show of hanfu, the traditional clothing of China's Han ethnic group, and qipao (the tight-fitting dress that originated in 1920s Shanghai). Children can also learn to draw peonies during the festival.

Tens of thousands of peonies were introduced to the Langshan scenic spot in 2014 and a peony garden covering 2,000 square meters was built. Later it was expanded to a 3,000-sq-m garden, where more than 70 species and 30,000 peonies are now cultivated, including some rare species.

The festival has attracted about 200,000 visitors every year during the previous five sessions. It has now become an annual festival in spring and a well-known local tourist brand.
