Online hospital, medical insurance app introduced in Nantong
An online hospital affiliated with the Sixth People's Hospital of Nantong was officially added to the city's mobile app for medical insurance on March 31.
Nantong's mobile medical insurance app was launched last July and has proved helpful amid COVID-19 control efforts. It has cooperated with 26 medical institutions around the city, allowing residents to make appointments, pay fees, and check test reports on their mobile phones.
The Sixth People's Hospital of Nantong is the first in the city to set up an online hospital. A total of 82 doctors have registered online to provide medical treatment to patients with common and chronic diseases.
All processes, from making appointments to delivering drugs, are completely traceable. During virus control efforts, 827 residents have made inquiries online and 28 have had drugs delivered.
Residents can now directly make appointments for the online hospital through the mobile app. People must first select a time, department, and specialist, and then briefly describe their illness. He/she will then be able to have a video conversation with a doctor.
According to Sun Hua, director of Nantong's medical insurance center, insured residents can receive medical treatment for common diseases at home and expenses can be paid through the mobile app.
