Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, announced on March 23 that it will adopt stricter novel coronavirus prevention measures for inbound travelers, as more domestically confirmed infections are being linked to imported cases.

The announcement said that all travelers arriving in Haimen are required to undergo medical observation for 14 days.

They must take a nucleic acid test for the coronavirus on the first and last days of quarantine.

Those who test positive for the coronavirus or have abnormal symptoms such as fever or cough will be transferred to designated medical institutions for quarantined treatment. Those who test negative will be released from quarantine after 14 days.

All travelers to the city must report their travel history and health conditions to their communities and employers upon arrival.

They are not allowed to enter residential areas without permission or find accommodation themselves.

Those who deliberately conceal their travel history, refuse to undergo quarantined medical observation, or violate local epidemic control regulations will be blacklisted in the public credit information system and be investigated for criminal responsibility in accordance with the law.
