Nantong Tiancheng Optoelectronic Technology Co has recently developed a 3D-printed intelligent epidemic-detection cabin, as part of efforts to help curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

The cabin can complete facial recognition, temperature detection and disinfection in a few seconds after a person steps in at normal speed. It will give out an alarm when detecting an abnormal body temperature, said Shen Biao, chairman of the company.

"One cabin can serve 300 to 500 people per hour. The disinfection rate can reach 99.99 percent," Shen explained.

The company was founded in April 2019 and has been focusing on the application of the entire industrial chain of 3D construction printing technology.

It is committed to providing comprehensive solutions, including equipment manufacturing, design of printing programs, formulations of printing materials, architectural structure analysis and model design.

Since the beginning of the epidemic outbreak, Shen and his research and development team have used 3D printing technology to produce an intelligent epidemic-detection cabin and a negative-pressure quarantine cabin.

"The detection cabin can effectively help reduce the infection rate in working spaces, while the quarantine cabin can promptly isolate personnel who suffer a fever," said Shen.

"They are easy to assemble and disassemble, and the shapes can vary according to different spaces, such as schools, residential areas, companies and shopping malls."
