Haimen data center receives 10b yuan in investment
A signing ceremony for the establishment of a data center was held on Dec 30 in Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.
The data center, to be built in the city's economic development zone, will have a floor area of about 130,000 square meters.
It will receive 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) in investment from Beijing Yixin Information Technology Service Co and Haimen Tuohong Industry Co, and will be operated by CNISPGROUP Technology Co.
The center aims to become a national model for comprehensive big data centers. It is expected to inject new momentum into Haimen's new-generation IT industry and help promote the city's industrial transformation and upgrading.
"Haimen's advantageous location, industrial resources, business environment, personnel, and preferential policies will serve as the foundation for the development of the center," said Liu Donghai, general manager of Beijing Yixin Information Technology Service Co.
In recent years, the output of Haimen's IT industry has maintained an annual growth rate of more than 20 percent. It has shown strong competitiveness in optical fibers, electronic products, and robots.
