Haimen students win national chemistry awards

The 33rd Chinese Chemistry Olympiad and Winter Camp concluded on Dec 4 in Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan province.

Tang Kailin, a third-grade student at Haimen Middle School, won gold at the event, while his classmate Chen Dunuo won silver.

This was the second year in a row that Tang won a gold award, earning him a pre-admission notice from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University.

The competition has been hosted by the Chinese Chemical Society every year since 1984. It consists of preliminary contests, a winter camp, an intensive training session, and cultural exchange activities.

A total of 107 gold, 143 silver, and 84 bronze prizes were handed out at this year's event.
