Cong Jianzhong, a motorcyclist from Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently finished a motorcycle trip around the country.

The 50-year-old man set off from Nantong on July 15 and traveled 32,000 kilometers along the coast and border. He drove through 14 provinces and regions before returning home on Nov 4.

"It has been my dream to see the great rivers and mountains of my motherland by motorcycle," said Cong.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the birth of his granddaughter, and his 50th birthday, which is why he was determined to achieve his dream this year.

"The trip was a gift to me and my country," he said.

During his 110-day trip, he encountered many difficulties and dangers, but was rewarded by natural scenery that exceeded his expectations.

"I never thought of giving up," Cong said. He insisted that as long as he stuck to his plan, he would make it.
