Haimen ranks 14th among China's top 100 counties
Haimen ranked 14th among China's top 100 counties in terms of industrial development, according to a report released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) on Nov 13.
It led the five county-level cities in Nantong included on the list, the other ones being Hai'an, Qidong, Rugao, and Rudong.
The city also ranked 19th on a list of China's top 100 counties in terms of business environment.
The results were based on comprehensive evaluations carried out by CCID Consulting, a leading Chinese think tank under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The think tank evaluated 1,879 counties across China based on 14 factors including government publicity, online services, foreign investment, purchasing power, transportation facilities, and natural environment.
Haimen, which is home to the world's largest home textiles market, has been working to improve its business environment by streamlining application procedures and enhancing the working efficiency of government departments.
To this end, the local administrative examination and approval bureau has enlisted more than 600 workers from 61 departments and opened 280 windows to provide one-stop services involving 1,382 items for businesses and individuals.
